Lucknow: The construction companies should complete the ongoing tube well boring work in every village by 30th September. Otherwise, the companies should be ready for strict action. Jal Shakti Minister Swatantradev Singh gave these instructions on Friday at the headquarters of the State Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission located at Kisan Bazaar in Gomtinagar.
He was holding a review meeting here with the state heads of the organizations carrying out construction work under the Har Ghar Jal Yojana of Jal Jeevan Mission. He gave the officials a target of providing one lakh tap connections in the state on September 17, PM Modi’s birthday. Namami Gange and Principal Secretary of Rural Water Supply Department Anurag Srivastava were also present in the meeting.
Singh said that roads have been excavated to lay the pipeline in the districts of the state including Etawah, Auraiya, Mainpuri, Kannauj, Prayagraj, Shravasti, Azamgarh and Amroha. Gave instructions to get them constructed soon. He instructed the state heads of the companies that the work of laying the pipeline should be done with utmost sincerity.
Especially special attention should be paid to quality. The villages of the state where water supply has reached. After the completion of the pipeline work there, the roads should be repaired immediately. Strict action will be taken against the companies that do not complete the work on time. He directed to prepare standards and mechanism to ensure the quality of work in the field. He warned the companies and directed them to make timely payments to the employees working at lower levels.
In the meeting, Principal Secretary Anurag Srivastava reviewed the construction organizations one by one. He gave a strict warning to the companies doing overhead construction and providing tap connections and asked them to speed up the work. He also encouraged the companies doing good work. Executive Director of State Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission Brijraj Singh Yadav and other officers were present in the meeting.
