Cops bust notorious drug smuggling syndicate with roots in Odisha

Lucknow: Ganja smuggling is going on continuously in Uttar Pradesh. These days maximum smuggling is taking place in Kushinagar district. Gorakhpur police arrested four smugglers who were carrying ganja from Orissa to Kushinagar via Varanasi and Gorakhpur.

38 kg of ganja has been recovered from it. SO Purushottam Anand Singh said that the accused had come from Orissa  by train to Varanasi. Belipar police was checking vehicles near Bhowvapar.

Meanwhile, the police stopped the car coming from Varanasi. During investigation, ganja was recovered from the trunk of the car. The arrested accused were identified as Mohd. of Bhitha Redha, West Champaran, Bihar, another Tahiyad Aslam of Dhunia Patti, Pappu Prasad of Bishunpura Risal Patti of Kushnigar, Kuldeep Yadav of Maduadi Kakarmatta, Varanasi. Taking action under relevant sections, everyone has been sent to jail.

Reportedly a few days ago, West Champaran Police had arrested a woman from Kushinagar on charges of smuggling. The woman had told that at present seven other women in Padrauna are also involved in its smuggling.
