Bareilly: UP STF has arrested two smugglers of a gang who were operating at the international level. Smack worth Rs 1 crore has been recovered from them. Seven lakh forty thousand rupees have also been found in cash. An FIR has been registered against both the smugglers at Bahedi police station in Bareilly district.
STF got information from informers that Usman Ali of the gang involved in smuggling narcotics will bring Mohammad Yusuf alias Hafiz to Bahedi by hiding in his scooty from Fatehganj West. Whose supply will be in Udham Singh Nagar and Haldwani of Uttarakhand in Nainital.
Sharing this information with the local police, the STF stopped the above two people near the house of Mohammad Yusuf in Mohalla Shahgarh and searched the accused in front of the jurisdictional officer, Ajay Kumar Gautam. One kg 180 grams of illegal smack was recovered from the possession of both the accused. The value of which in the international market is being said to be more than one crore rupees. Seven lakh forty thousand rupees of smack sale have also been recovered from their possession.
STF in-charge Ajay Pal Singh said that the arrested accused Usman told during interrogation that he supplies smack to Mohammad Yusuf, Mustaq, Arif of Kasba Baheri for a long time. Even today, after giving goods to Yusuf, he would give the rest of the goods to these two people. Gives them goods at the rate of Rs 10 lakh per kg. He and his wife Rehana have been caught before this as well. The accused is a history-sheeter of Osman police station West, district Bareilly and dozens of cases have been registered against him in different districts.
