Cricket Beyond boundaries : Babar Azam eyes breaking a Virat Kohli record

Multan: Pakistan cricket team has to play a series of three ODIs against West Indies in their own home. All three matches will be played in Multan. The beginning of the series i.e. the first match will be played  on June 8. West Indies will enter the field with the intention of creating history under the captaincy of their new captain Nicholas Pooran.

Babar Azam’ will have a target on Virat Kohli’s record. As soon as Babar Azam scores 98 runs, he would make the world record for the fastest one thousand ODI runs as a captain. Will break Kohli’s record in this matter.

This record is currently in the name of Kohli, who scored 1000 runs in 17 ODI innings as a captain. Kohli had achieved this feat in 2017. Then he broke the record of former South African captain AB de Villiers. Whereas Babar Azam has played only 12 innings as a captain so far, in which he has scored 902 runs. In such a situation, he still has a chance for 4 innings.

West Indies have not won ODI series in Pakistan for 31 years

The West Indies cricket team has reached Pakistan this time under the leadership of its new captain, Nicholas Pooran.
