Cyber crime cell helps in returning cash to its rightful owner with prompt action
Lucknow: In recent years, cyber crime has become a major menace. The cases of online theft has increased exponentially and the cyper policing network has in recent years tried doubly hard to nip cyber frauds in the bud.
In a unique case of prompt action, Rs 1,27,368 /- cheated by cyber criminals from the credit card of Bank of Baroda of the complainant Mukul Chand Rai was recoverd by cybercrime cell. The cyber fraud reportedly happened in the garb of upgrade to Airtel 5G network.
Commissioner of Police, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Commissionerate Lucknow, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) along with the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Assistant Commissioner of Police Cybercrime and Inspector Incharge Cybercrime Cell, while taking prompt action, a total of Rs 1,27,368 /- was cheated by cyber criminals from the complainant.
It has been refunded back to the complainant’s account.
Reportedly the amount was belonging to Mukul Chandra Rai.
By registering the application given by the complainant in the cyber cell CC No. 2319 / 2023 dated 06.05.2023, according to the orders of Inspector-in-charge Satish Sahu, immediate action was taken on the application by Malkhan Singh, in which the concerned bank / By contacting the companies and getting the suspicious accounts frozen. Taking action as per the rules in the case, out of the total amount of Rs 1,27,368 /- withdrawn by cyber thugs, the entire amount of Rs 1,27,368 /- has been returned back to the complainant’s account.
Due to the action taken by the Cyber Crime Cell, the complainant is very happy to get his Rs 1,27,368 /- and has thanked the Police Commissionerate, Lucknow.
