Lucknow: Seeing the reports of shortage of Oxygen supply in Uttar Pradesh hospitals, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has saidthat all efforts are being made to strengthen the medical facilities for COVID patients. He said that supply of oxygen in the state is smooth. Very soon 10 new oxygen plants will be set up at different places in the state.
DRDO will be extending full support in this endeavour. He said that location scouting and other related activities will start from today. The Health Minister and Additional Chief Secretary Health will keep a direct watch on this entire action. A new all-purpose COVID Hospital will be built in Lucknow’s Awadh Shilp Gram with the help of HAL.
He said the Health Department should coordinate with HAL to immediately implement this very important work.
He said that a weekly lockdown has been announced for Sunday which will be implemented to keep the spread of COVID infection to a minimum. It should be made effective in all the districts.
Pre-scheduled examinations will be held during this period. Candidates will be able to travel by showing the admit card. Public transport should be operated with half the capacity. Industrial units will be exempted from the curbs during weekly confinement.
He has gien lear instructions that General OPD operations should be suspended in government hospitals, barring emergency services and essential services. Telemedicine should be encouraged, with wide spread use of e-Sanjeevani app. In order to enable more and more people to take advantage of telemedicine, the names of doctors, specialization etc. should be duly publicized.
Meanwhile the Chief Minister Arogya Health Fair has been postponed till May 16. During the weekly confinement, medical and health related services and supplies of essential goods will continue unchanged.
He has stressed that during the 35 hour period, a massive campaign of sanitation should be carried out. For the polling of Panchayat General Election-2021, the work of dispatching of polling parties will continue.
During the weekly confinement, the pre-determined functions of marriage, marriage etc. will be completed, ensuring compliance with the COVID protocol. A maximum of 50 people can be present in a closed hall and a maximum of 100 people in the open field events.
Continuous supply of oxygen remained in COVID hospitals of all the districts. The control room set up by the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department in connection with the smooth supply of medical oxygen will remain active 24 × 7. And all required medical facilities will have to stay in place he said.
Yogi in strictest terms has said that the Department of Food Safety and Drug Administration should ensure adequate availability of Remedisivir and oxygen. He said laxity in work is not acceptable. The Minister of State Atul Garg will continuously monitor this work.
In private medical colleges where ICU beds are not available due to lack of oxygen cylinders, such institutions will be provided cylinders by the state government.
DG Medical Education will ensure this arrangement. He said there should be no delay in payment of farmers. The Integrated Control and Command Center at Lucknow is in need of improvement in its functioning. The concerned officials should ensure that this center is useful to the public, otherwise strict action will be taken.
Lastly he said COVID work should be done in full capacity in all the authorized private and government laboratories. More than 19 thousand tests were conducted in private laboratories yesterday. Private laboratories should be fully used for the COVID test. Increase the number of hospitals in L-2 and L-3 levels. There should be no shortage of beds anywhere. Ensure provision of trained human resources in hospitals. This system will be monitored from the level of the Minister of Medical Education.
He also said people should be made aware by making full use of public address system. The role of monitoring committees is important. All publicity related arrangements should be ensured for awareness.
He said Quarantine centers should be operated in all districts.
