Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak launches the Yogi government initiative Listen to Doctor at NIC Bhawan
Lucknow: The Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Brajesh Pathak today launched the innovative initiative “Listen to Doctor” at NIC Center, Yojna Bhawan. While addressing the Chief Medical Officers, ANMs, ASHA workers and beneficiaries of all the districts of the state connected through video conferencing and the public connected through web link, he said that to make people aware about diseases and to raise the questions and doubts of the people.
A unique initiative has been taken by the government for the solution. He said that today through this program, information is being given by experts regarding health department’s infrastructure, Ayushman Bharat scheme, communicable diseases, antenatal check-up of pregnant, first 28 days of newborn care and routine immunization. Apart from this, information about various health schemes being run by the Government of India and the State Government will also be given in the program.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that in the present situation, we are battling a serious disease like Covid-19. In such a situation, it is necessary for us to be careful while being aware of our health. He said that there is also a need to make people aware about communicable diseases. Majority of the population of the state is dependent on government hospitals for treatment, so better medical facilities should be made available to the public by utilizing 100% of the resources available in all the districts.
He said that all the health schemes run by Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Chief Minister should be ensured to reach every needy.
Pathak said that people should be made aware about institutional delivery, so that 100% safe delivery can be ensured. Giving instructions to be vigilant about newborns, he said that all the vaccines and necessary care given to the newborn within 48 hours must be ensured. He said that the day and time of availability of doctors should be displayed on the board so that there is no inconvenience to the patients.
Under the “Listen to Doctor” program, senior officials and experts of the health department along with experts from international organizations like WHO, UNICEF, Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation, Path etc. were provided information related to the health department. Under the program, the questions and queries of the beneficiaries located in the districts and the people connected through the web link were resolved by the experts. As panelists in the program, Smt. Dr. Arpit Patnaik from Path Foundation, while resolving the queries of the people, gave information regarding health schemes.
Additional Chief Secretary Amit Mohan Prasad, Mission Director, NHM Aparna Upadhyay and other departmental officers were present on the occasion.
