Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya urges officials to take cue from Gujarat model
Lucknow: The Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya has given instructions to the officers of the Rural Development Department to foster development by doing creative work in the villages and to set a new example by innovating in the development works.
In very clear instructions, Officers/employees should work with team spirit and set new records of development in the village. He has asked to develop such a simple, easy, accessible and all-embracing work culture in the development works, that the common people can fulfill their basic needs in a very easy manner. He said that
the soul of India resides in the villages, hence a new revolution of development has to be brought in the villages.
Keshav Prasad Maurya was presiding over the meeting organized with all the Joint Development Commissioners of the state and Chief Development Officers of all the districts at Yojana Bhawan, Lucknow on Wednesday.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that work on Gujarat model for cleanliness and public facilities in villages. Instructions have been given to select 10 gram panchayats that are lagging behind in development work in each block and carry out development work there like aspirational development blocks.
He enunciated that the CDO should inspect the most backward Gram Panchayat of the district at least once a month. And play a leading role in implementing the development plans by formulating a concrete and effective strategy. He further elaborated that an eye should be kept on ensuring that there is no over-lapping in the installation of solar lights in the villages.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that all the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural should be given all the permissible facilities under all circumstances and all the women beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana-Rural and Chief Minister Awas Yojana-Rural should be 100 percent linked to the groups formed under the Livelihood Mission. . He said that if any beneficiary is declared ineligible under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural, then thorough cross-checking should be done and it should be taken very seriously.
He further added that as many posts as possible about the good and vibrant works of the department should be posted on social media, all efficient and capable officers and employees should be involved in it. The message of good works should go to the public. Adding that the state has done very well in the construction of Amrit Sarovaros.
The work has been done and the state is at number 1 in the country. He said that booklets of Shilaphalakam and Amrit Vatika should be prepared at the district level and all possible measures should be taken to keep the Amrit Vatikas safe and protected. He said that CDOs, DDOs and BDOs should listen to public problems and resolve them.
Cleanliness campaign should be conducted at least once in a year in Vikas Bhawan and Development Block Office.
The labor force of villages should not be allowed to diminish; working people should be encouraged to work hard by praising their energy and their hard work.
Rural Development Department is at the top in many schemes in the country, this pace has to be maintained. He said that encouraging and commendable results are being achieved from the village chaupals. About 2.5 lakh problems have been solved so far through Chaupals. Cleanliness campaign should be conducted before Chaupals. Chaupals should be made so effective that it becomes a model for other states. Said that CDOs should maintain constant communication with public representatives, suggestions of public representatives should be taken in the implementation of development works and schemes. He appreciated the work of many other Chief Development Officers including Bahraich, Sonbhadra, Lakhimpur-Kheeri. He also praised the restoration work of endangered rivers.
Minister of State for Rural Development, Vijayalakshmi Gautam said that development works are being carried out at a very fast pace in the state. She stressed the need to inspect Gram Panchayat buildings and provide the benefits of the facilities provided there to the eligible persons.
Agriculture Production Commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh said that the work of more than 70 departments in the districts is done in coordination with the Development Department. The state is at the top in the country in 41 schemes, out of which the Rural Development Department has the maximum number of schemes. Remarkable work has been done by the Rural Development Department in the direction of increasing the income of women in the state. Good work is being done for the development and betterment of villages.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Department, Shri Himanshu Kumar took the feed bank of rural development works from the Chief Development Officers and Joint Development Commissioners and gave important guidelines.
Rural Development Commissioner GS Priyadarshi, while discussing the excellent and noteworthy works done by the department in the field of MNREGA works, construction of Amrit Sarovaro, women empowerment and creation of human day, said, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Rural and Chief Minister Awas Yojana – Very good work has been done in rural areas also, about 70 thousand houses are being given to the disabled under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme.
In the meeting, Mission Director, State Rural Livelihood Mission, C. Indumati shared her views for the implementation of the schemes being run under the Livelihood Mission for women empowerment. The meeting was conducted by Deputy Commissioner Rural Development, Akhilesh Singh. On this occasion, other senior officials of Rural Development Department, Chief Development Officer and Joint Development Commissioner were present.
