Devbhoomi folk add swagger to city’s composite culture

Lucknow: On the one hand, the shopkeepers are very happy with the day by day increasing crowd in the Uttarakhand Mahotsav – the ingredients of their stalls=bal mithai, mountain pulses, vegetables, woolen clothes etc. are being sold in abundance and the stock is being ordered again and again.

The fair management team is keeping a close eye on all the arrangements and is excited by the immense success of the festival. On the seventh day of the ongoing Uttarakhand Mahotsav at Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant Mountain Cultural Park (Birbal Sahni Marg), the spectators started arriving from the morning itself, and by the evening a huge crowd had gathered.

This unique festival is a celebration of cultural diversity with entertainment like music and dance, traditional art performances, highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting the heritage of Uttarakhand and other places. Mahendra Galakoti, Cultural Secretary of Uttarakhand General Council, said that there is also a singing competition in the name of Voice of Uttarakhand and a prize money of Rs 50 thousand has been kept in it.

Competition in-charge Puran Singh Jeena informed that 16 participants selected after the audition are giving voice to 120 songs of Uttarakhand. The young generation has participated enthusiastically in this competition. Artists are giving captivating presentations in the competitions and their supporters are cheering and clapping. These competitions are being beautifully coordinated by Sunder Singh Bisht.

The programs from 4 to 6 pm are being conducted by Poonam Kanwal and Haritima Pant and the evening session from 06:00 pm till the end of the program is being effectively conducted by All India Radio announcer Surendra Rajeshwari.

Media in-charge Rajendra Singh Kanwal said that today for the first time on this stage, girl artists – Gargi Ghughatiyal, Kritika Rawat, Sneha Bisht, Aditi Adhikari, Riya Singh, Tanisha Galakoti, Shobha Patwal, Khushi, Pooja Bisht, Yamini etc. have presented the ancient traditional beauty of Uttarakhand.

Chholiya Dance – Excellent performance by Arts and Cultural Groups Kalyanpur under the direction of Kamna Bisht. This is a war style dance, performed by artists wearing colorful clothes and holding shields and swords in their hands to the sound of trumpet Rangsingh to the beat of Damua drum.

The team of the General Council mainly included Shri Diwan Singh Adhikari, Govind Ballabh Phulara, Awadhesh Kothari, Rajesh Bisht, Pradeep Chand, Suresh Pandey, Bhuvan Patwal, Puran Chandra Bhadaula, Bhuvan Pathak, Sundar Singh Bisht, Jagat Singh Rana, Anil Pandey, Ramesh. Chandra Singh Adhikari, Lal Singh Bisht, Paan Singh Sunil Upreti and other officials and members are engaged in making the festival a success with full dedication and dedication.
Today’s guest Shri Hari Mohan Singh, Assistant Divisional Manager of Indian Life Insurance, Assistant Divisional Manager Sanjeev Kumar Srivastava and officials of the General Council jointly inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Officials of Uttarakhand General Council welcomed the guests by presenting them with bouquets, garments and insignia.

9 contestants participated in the solo dance from 02 pm, in which first was Arunima Chaturvedi, second was Jhanvi Bisht, third was Gargi Dwivedi. The judge in this competition was Dr. Sudha Mishra Joshi and it was conducted under the supervision of women’s wing president Pushpa Vaishnav, Rajeshwari Rawat, Sunita Kanwal. Chholiya Dance – Udhanchal Kala Kendra, Almora attracted the attention of the crowd with various tricks.

From 04 PM onwards:- Solo dance of Adiya Bisht, Solo dance of Sangvi Bisht, Solo dance of Aditya, Solo song of Yashoda Jeena – everyone decorated the stage with their beautiful performances. Singing by Dhun Foundation – Kavita Kumar and Benjay Kumar, presentation by groups of Information Department, Uttar Pradesh Government, presentation by Surtaal Sangam, beautiful singing by Surabhi Music College Jankipuram, Lucknow under the leadership of Surbhi Srivastava – Ganesh Vandana, patriotic songs, women empowerment songs. Gave a presentation. The team of Ramlila Samiti Telibagh performed the dance of Monica Mehra under the leadership of Janaki Adhikari.

Babita Joshi’s presentation, Rahul Fartiyal and Monica’s duet dance and Ishita Joshi’s folk singing were highly appreciated. The audience was entertained with the beautiful dances of Bollywood dance by Dakshita Dubey, Mayapuri Atrauli under the leadership of Sonia Bisht and the performances of Jhoda – Shivani Vihar Kalyanpur under the leadership of Hema Bisht, Vasundharapuram Kalyanpur under the leadership of Sushila Negi and Gomti under the leadership of Damayanti Negi.

City Extension The three groups enthralled the audience with a beautiful presentation of Jhoda in traditional costumes.

From 06 pm – The four participants of the second round of Voice of Uttarakhand, Anupama Srivastava, Pankaj Vanagi, Haritima Pant and Neha Joshi, gathered a lot of applause with their singing and tried their best to make it to the next round.

Presentation of four groups of the third round of Dance Uttarakhand Dance – 1) Arts and Cultural Group Kalyanpur under the leadership of Mrs. Hema Bisht, 2) Yash Music Group Ayodhya under the leadership of Sangeeta Ahuja, 3) Ek Naya Savera Neelmattha Lucknow under the leadership of Pinky Nautiyal and 4) Under the leadership of Nanda Rawat, Johar Sanskriti Samiti Vikas Nagar, all four parties decorated the stage with beautiful presentations, received a lot of applause and tried their best to go to the next round. Sangeet Kala Kendra Lucknow presented various programs courtesy the Central Bureau of Communications, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. With the help of Culture Department, Dehradun, a group of 20 artists came from Pithoragarh under the leadership of Prakash Rawat -The stage resonated with Vandana Jai Ho Bala Goriya, Jhoda, Chapeli, Kumaoni, Garhwali and Nepali songs. Its singer artists are Ramesh Jageria, Deepika Raj, Devendra Singh Pannu.
