DGP Mukul Goel orders round the clock monitoring of suicidal tendencies reflected on social media

Lucknow: Suicide related posts on Facebook or Instagram are notified by the US Headquarters of Facebook by sending an immediate alert e-mail to the authorized e-mail ID and phone number of the DGP’s Social Media Monitoring Center. On the instructions of DGP Mukul Goel, a new arrangement has been made by the Social Media Monitoring Center to make available such cases on priority basis by contacting Facebook.

After this process started, taking cognizance of alert e-mail and phone sent by Facebook in a case last month, it was explained to the person. Similarly, the DGP Headquarters took cognizance of the tweet made through Twitter at 8 am on Saturday on the tweet made about a class 11 student failing in the examination. Failing to do so, they were immediately responded to from the Twitter handle of the police. The student assured that he would not do any such act in future.
