District Magistrate orders immediate arrangements of night shelters for needy in winter time

Lucknow: In view of the winter season, an important meeting regarding night shelters and bonfires was called by District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar.

Instructions were given to mark new and old government buildings for arranging night shelters. In view of the cold season, strict instructions of the District Magistrate were given, in any case destitute people should not be allowed to sleep in the open, they should be sent to the nearest night shelter.

With the District Magistrate’s unique initiative, now the needy will get food, clothes and a place to stay in night shelters. To help the needy, Lucknow Textile Bank will be built in every block and every tehsil of the city.

To save the needy from the cold wave, the District Magistrate started the campaign, all the government officers/employees will donate 10-10 old clothes.

It will be the responsibility of the executive organizations to make arrangements for the proper living conditions of the migrated laborers working at brick kilns/project sites, etc.

It has also been made very clear that every police post and dial 112 should be linked with night shelters.
