Divisional Commissioner discusses heritage zone revamp at Smart City project review meet
Lucknow: Lucknow Development Authority’s Chairman/Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob reviewed the progress of works being done by the authority in the city under the Smart City project. LDA Vice President Dr. Indramani Tripathi, Municipal Commissioner Indrajit Singh were present in the meeting. During this, he directed the officials that the Andaz-e-Awadh Heritage Corridor master plan should be prepared soon and adjusted in the master plan prepared by the authority.
In the meeting held at the Masood Auditorium of Pradhikaran Bhawan, the work being done in the Heritage Corridor was first discussed.
In this, it was informed by Dr. Indramani Tripathi, Vice President of Authority, that the work of facade lighting is in progress in Chhota Imambara, Bara Imambara, Naubatkhana, Rumi Gate, Ghanta Ghar, both domes of Sahadat Ali Park, Darshan Vilas and Gulistan-e-Iram.
Most of which will be completed by March 20. During this, the Divisional Commissioner directed that the construction work of Food Court and Museum should also be completed soon, so that the work of Tourist Facilitation Center to be built in the museum could be started.
In relation to the Fragrance Park, the Divisional Commissioner directed the officers that whichever agency gets the tender, it should be ensured that the agency must have an experienced consultant for horticulture work. On the other hand, regarding the water screen multimedia laser show being set up at Janeshwar Mishra Park, the Divisional Commissioner directed that the history and civilization of the state should be shown in the laser show.
During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner directed that under the Heritage Zone, the work of developing cafeteria near Chhota Imambara Gate, Kaiserbagh Rotary, Senior Citizen Park next to Amir-ud-daulah Library and Picture Gallery should also be included. He said that the work of placemaking in the core area of the Heritage Zone should be done with quality on the theme of fine art.
Municipal Commissioner Indrajit Singh, Authority Secretary Pawan Kumar Gangwar, Additional Secretary Gyanendra Verma, Zonal Officers Gaurav Kumar and Priyanka Singh, Chief Engineer Awadhesh Tiwari, Superintending Engineer AK Singh, Executive Engineers Manoj Sagar and Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Faculty of AKTU attended the meeting. Dean of Architect and Planning Department Dr. Vandana Sehgal and other officers and architects were present.
