Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob reviews Beti Bachao Beti Padhao progress
Lucknow: Under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob, an important meeting regarding “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” was organized in the commissioner’s office hall. On this occasion, Deputy Director Women’s Welfare Pradeep Kumar Tripathi, all Chief Medical Officers of the circle, District Probation Officer and office bearers of voluntary organizations were present.
The Divisional Commissioner made an in-depth review of the amount spent in relation to the amount allocated under the scheme of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”. The districts where less funds have been spent in comparison to the target have been warned and instructions have been given to fulfill the target by March 31, 2023.
In the meeting, during the review, the Divisional Commissioner instructed to organize seminars in all the degree colleges of all the districts on gender and PCPNDT Act on the continuous falling sex ratio and its consequences.
The Divisional Commissioner instructed the concerned officers to make people aware by organizing self-help camps, street plays, wall-painting etc. workshops in all the districts of the division. Along with this, surprise inspections of the registered ultrasound centers in the districts were conducted to check the genuineness of the cases registered under the PCPNDT Act and action could be taken against the untrained employees in the centres.
In the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner gave instructions to the concerned officers that the incentive amount should be transferred to the account of the meritorious student without any delay. He said that whatever budget money has been made available, it should be put to good use.
After that, in the meetings of district level task force constituted under “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”, sex ratio, Aadhaar authentication, destitute women pension after husband’s death, Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangla Yojana, Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana, (Covid-19) Chief Minister Bal Seva Yojana (General), Mission Shakti, One Stop Center, Mahila Shakti Kendra and grant scheme for marriage of widowed daughters were thoroughly reviewed and directed that 100 percent target should be met in all the schemes.
