Divisional Commissioner lays stress on need for seamless public redressal
Lucknow: Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob has said that common people living in Lucknow metropolis have to face problems related to day to day life and electricity, water, road, building construction, drainage, traffic, transport and pollution etc.
Many arrangements have been made sensitively by the government to solve the problems and the departments related to these problems also keep trying to solve the problems, but many works related to basic facilities in the urban areas are of such a nature that more than one executive is involved in it.
Organizations participate, whose information is not available to the general public. In the event of work being done by more than one institution, there is a problem in clearly fixing the accountability for the work, in such a situation it is not possible to effectively solve the problems related to the infrastructure of the urban area without inter-departmental coordination. She directed that the Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas should be organized effectively and with high degree of sensitivity in view of successful solution to the basic problems of the citizens of urban areas.
She said that the common man has to visit many departments to solve small problems related to day-to-day living, due to which a negative feeling is generated in the general public towards the government.
She said that for quality and effective redressal, monitoring and coordination of the problems related to the civic amenities of the citizens in the urban areas, the Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas will be organized on the last Tuesday of every month at 10:00 am in the meeting hall of the Lucknow Development Authority. Instructions have been given to do it till 2:00 pm. Participation should be done by the senior most officers of the department dealing with civic amenities.
She directed that the details of the complaints received should be recorded in a register and the resolution taken should also be marked. The complaints received should be redressed in a quality manner within the stipulated time by establishing inter-departmental coordination as per the requirement. On the next resolution day, a thorough review of the redressal of the complaints received in the previous resolution day will be done and their minutes will also be released. She said that Lucknow Development Authority has been made the nodal department for the successful organization of this programme.
Lucknow Development Authority will organize this program and inform the departments related to this program at its own level and will also maintain the records received at its own level. He instructed that the District Magistrate Lucknow, Vice Chairman Lucknow Development Authority, Lucknow and Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Lucknow will compulsorily participate in the Facilitation Day and the Facilitation Day will be held under the joint chairmanship of these three officers.
She directed that in this Samadhan Divas, District Magistrate Lucknow, Lucknow Development Authority, Lucknow and Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Lucknow, apart from Jal Nigam Urban, Lesa, Waterworks Department, Pollution, Public Works Department, Housing Development, Traffic Departments themselves will participate.
She has nominated the senior-most officer of the traffic department as Commissioner of Police, Lucknow, for matters related to traffic, and instructed to make its information available to the Lucknow Development Authority, the nodal department of Samadhan Diwas.
