Divisional Commissioner reviews poll preparedness before civic elections
Lucknow: For the purpose of taking stock of the arrangements made in view of Municipal General Election 2023, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob inspected the booths and also gave necessary guidelines to the concerned officers present.
The Divisional Commissioner inspected the primary school Mardan Kheda Zone-1 polling place (booths). She instructed the concerned officers that arrangements for drinking water, cleanliness, electricity at the booths should not be interrupted and all these arrangements should be made on time. It was told by the concerned that due to high electricity bill, the connection has been disconnected due to which the electricity is interrupted.
The Divisional Commissioner instructed the concerned officers of LESA over telephone that the polling stations (booths) in which the list of power outages has been made available to you, should be rectified immediately and the electrical system should be repaired.
During the inspection, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob inspected the booths built in Rajajipuram, Labor Colony. It was told by the concerned that total two booths have been built here. She inquired about the number of voters and gave instructions to the concerned to speed up the preparation of booths. She also inspected the booths made in SKD Academy and Jalkal Department Zone 2.
Instructions were given to clean the dirty drains in front of the booths, clean the toilets properly. She said that holding banners should be put up at every polling places so that people can know about polling day, polling place and maximum polling percentage can be increased.
During the inspection of the booths built in the Divisional Primary School, Azad Nagar (Alambagh), the door and window were broken and in dilapidated condition, and instructions were given to repair them immediately and to prune the forest and bushes.
After the above, he also inspected the booths made in East Secondary School (Kanya Gauri) Zone-1, Composite School Gauri Kanya.
