DM Surya Pal Gangwar calls for crop damage assessment by competent team
Lucknow: Damage to crops due to heavy rains will be assessed. A team of progressive farmers will also be involved in this so that there is transparency in the survey. DM Surya Pal Gangwar gave these instructions in the Crop Residue Management and District Level Rabi Productivity Seminar. DM presided over the meeting held at Vikas Bhawan.
The DM said that the team of progressive farmers at the Nyaya Panchayat level would cooperate in the survey of the damages. It was told by the insurance company that 13 thousand 489 farmers have been insured in the district. Everyone’s premium is also deposited. The DM directed that all the farmers who have been insured should be sent insurance certificates in three days. In the next five days, the officials will inspect the village level to see how many farmers have got the certificate.
In the meeting, Deputy Agriculture Director AK Mishra explained in detail to the farmers on stubble management in Kharif. Also inspired through a short film. CDO Riya Kejriwal told that farmers who want to increase their income by setting up a cottage industry can easily take loans from banks. 35 percent grant is being given to women beneficiaries and 25 percent to others.
Crop destroyed due to drought or excessive rain, seeds will be available
On this occasion, District Agriculture Officer TB Singh told the farmers that free minikits of oilseed and pulse crops are available at the state agriculture seed stores. Seeds will be given on priority basis to the farmers whose crops have been damaged due to drought or excessive rainfall. Minikits of mustard and lentils were distributed to the farmers who came to the meeting.
