Lucknow: India’s leading start-up in the super-speciality healthcare sector DoctCo’s social initiative ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ added 11 buses to its fleet that were flagged off by Uttar Pradesh’s Hon’ble Governor Anandiben Patel in a glittering ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
Hon’ble Governor Anandiben Patel inaugurated the buses that would now cover almost 2.7 million of the population across five cities – Agra, Aligarh, Meerut, Mathura, and Varanasi. ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’, which was earlier known as ‘Doctor on Wheels’, was launched by DoctCo during the peak of the second wave of Covid with just one bus. With the addition of 11 buses, this initiative has now grown to 12 buses and will focussing on bringing tertiary care to small cities and towns of India. Red FM has tied up with DoctCo as the radio partner for this campaign.
The buses are equipped with thermal scanners, oximeters, ECG machines, and other medical devices and would prescribe basic medication and treatment to people with early Covid symptoms and other diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. Besides, three-member medical staff and one doctor will be available in each bus.
Commenting on the initiative, Hon’ble Governor Anandiben Patel said: “It is a great feeling to flag off a noble initiative like Doctco’s ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ as we celebrate India’s 75th Independence Day. India is battling a great pandemic that we have not seen before. I hope this initiative will not only help us to battle this pandemic but also provide quality and affordable healthcare to distant towns and cities of India. I wish them all the best.”
Mr. Nimith Agrawal, Founder of DoctCo, said: “We are extremely delighted to expand our social initiative ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ by adding 11 new buses. We had received an overwhelming response when we started this initiative with just one bus. It encouraged us to expand the initiative by increasing the number of these vehicles. The aim of ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ is to deliver quality, immediate and trustworthy medical treatment to tier-2 and 3 towns and cities. In our next phase, we would be expanding the reach of this social initiative to other parts of the country as well.” The event was also attended by Col. Hemraj Parmar, Co-Founder DoctCo, Dr. Neelam Mohan, advisor DoctCo, Mr. Pravir Agrawal, World Health Group, and Dr.A.P. Maheshwari (Former Advisor to Lt. Governor, Puducherry, & DG CRPF), Patron, Lung Care Foundation.
The ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ fleet is now equipped to conduct more than 231,000 screenings and tests and treat more than 50,000 people.
“Most of the people in tier-2 and 3 towns and cities lack the access to quality medical treatment, which is mostly available in tier-1 or metro cities. ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ is designed to bring quality, trustworthy, immediate, and convenient medical treatment to these areas,” added Mr. Nimith Agrawal.
During the second Covid wave, Swastha Ghar Tak’ was able to provide immediate screening, consultation, and treatment for COVID across 160 villages of UP, which helped curb the spread of the disease in distant towns and cities.
‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ is supported by the Lung Care Foundation of India.
Dr AP Maheshwari (Former Advisor to Lt. Governor, Puducherry & DG CRPF), Patron, Lung Care Foundation, said: “Access to good health care is a fundamental freedom. Our initiative has restored this freedom to the families and children in remote rural areas during vulnerable times by reaching out to them at their doorsteps. We work in tandem with Govt agencies to fill in the gaps and integrate beneficiaries with Ayushman Bharat Scheme as envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister. In this Amrut Mahotsav Year of our Freedom, we greet the Nation with our humble services and a sense of Pride!”
