Door-to-door survey being done through surveillance committees – Navneet Sehgal

Lucknow: Additional Chief Secretary Information  Navneet Sehgal informed that the Chief Minister’s 3T Trace, Test and Treat campaign as well as innovative experiments have reduced corona infection in the state. The infection in the state is at the lowest level as compared to other states.

He said that the enthusiasm of health workers and monitoring committees has increased after the Chief Minister visited 18 mandals and 40 districts. He said that due to 3T, the active cases as on 30th April, 2021 have come down from 3,10,783 to less than 600 and as on 23rd April, the daily Covid cases have come down from 38 thousand to less than 30.

Even though the number of active cases in the state is less, the number of tests for Covid-19 is not being reduced. The state is the first in the country to do Covid vaccination and testing.

Sehgal said that door-to-door survey is being done through surveillance committees and health department personnel to get information about the infection and tests have been conducted, along with medical kits have also been distributed. He said that out of 24 crore population of Uttar Pradesh, their well being has been known by the government machinery through surveillance so far more than 17.24 crore people.

Sehgal informed that at present food is being distributed under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Anna Kalyan Yojana announced by the Prime Minister. Today, more than 01 crore 92 lakh card holders have been given ration, the same amount is being distributed by the state government.

This process will continue till November. He said that in the programs to be organized on the occasion of 75th anniversary of Independence Day, program related to Kakori Train Action on 9th August will be celebrated. He said on August 09, the Prime Minister will transfer funds to 02 crore 31 lakh farmers of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana.

He will also talk to the beneficiaries of the cold storage set up in Kasganj under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund. He informed that the record crop procurement of wheat has been done by the state government at the minimum support price. It has been said by the Chief Minister to purchase paddy. The pending payments to sugarcane farmers have been made by the state government in the past, more than 01 lakh 40 thousand crores.

Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad informed that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, despite the large number of infections decreasing in the state, testing is not being reduced. A total of 2,54,007 samples have been tested in the last one day. A total of 6,72,21,784 samples have been tested so far in the state and 1,28,270 samples have been sent for RTPCR. He said that 28 new cases of corona infection have come in the state in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, 58 people and so far 16,85,357 people have been cured of Covid-19 in the state. The percentage of people recovering from Covid in the state is 98.6. There are a total of 586 active cases of corona in the state and 395 people are in home isolation.

Prasad said that so far 17,24,19,549 population of 3,58,68,159 houses have been surveyed through 6,48,615 team days in 2,95,440 areas through surveillance team in the state. The work of Covid vaccination is being done continuously. On August 06, 3,82,023 doses of vaccine have been given in the state. The first dose has been administered to 4,49,74,649 people and the second dose to 83,20,884 people and so far a total of 5,32,95,533 doses have been administered.

On August 03, more than 29 lakh 50 thousand vaccine doses have been given. He told that those who have taken the first dose of the vaccine must take their second dose and those who are above 60 years of age must get their vaccinations done. He said that the Covid infection has not ended in the state yet. So follow the covid protocol.
