Dr. Ammar Rizvi urges PM Modi to restore Anglo-Indians’ quota in Parliament and State Legislatures

Lucknow: As a voice, that is respected not only in his own community, but beyond, Dr. Ammar Rizvi has always been known as someone who has been very vocal about matters that he holds dear to his heart. In yet another example of that very quality, Dr. Rizvi has aired his views on the Anglo Indian quota.  Dr. Ammar Rizvi former Acting Chief Minister, U.P. and National President of All India Minorities Forum for Democracy has supported the demand of President-in-Chief of the All India Anglo-Indian Association for restoring Anglo-Indians’ quota in the Parliament and State Legislatures.

Extending his unequivocal support for this, Dr. Rizvi said that there is a sizeable increase in population of Anglo-Indians. They have adopted Indian culture and learnt local languages. They are in National mainstream. Their services to the cause of Education, Health and in other sectors have been of great significance. These can never be forgotten.

Dr. Rizvi said that nominated members of Anglo-Indians’ community have also played a very constructive role in strengthening the democratic and parliamentary system of our country. They have served in the Armed Force with distinction, dedication and bravery.

Dr. Rizvi has requested the Prime Minister of India for restoring the Anglo-Indians Quota in Parliament and State Legislatures.
