Kanpur: At times when Lucknow has seen some of the worst times during the second wave of the corona pandemic, its twin city Kanpur too is fighting a battle to save lives. As the number of cases rise, the district administration and the Health Department have been alerted and they are working to ensure that children are kept safe from the virus.
Seeing the gravity of the situation, preparations have started in hospitals. Pediatric ICU beds are being arranged in LLR Hospital and Private Hospitals.
Leading from the forefront is the Kanpur Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Rajshekhar, of Kanpur Mandal. Experts have predicted that the risk of infection in children is highest in the third wave of corona. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to build a 100 bed ICU hospital in each divisional headquarters.
An ICU of 60 beds is being arranged in LLR Hospital and 40 beds in a private hospital.
Giving information about this, Principal of GSVM Medical College, Dr.RB Kamal has said that 10-bed PICU beds are available. 30 beds will be ready in the next week. 20 beds will be ready next week. Similarly, a total of 60 beds child hospital will be ready in a month. In which all ICU beds will be in place as well as 40 pediatrics ICU beds are being arranged in private hospitals and strict instructions have been issued by the district administration that in every case the private hospital should complete the arrangement within 15 days. Dr. Rajasekhar informed that the Chief Minister has given instructions to set up a 100-bed ICU hospital in each divisional headquarters.
