Deoria: The use of drone technology will facilitate farmers in farming. Many such tasks related to agriculture, which earlier used to take several days, will now be done in a few minutes with the help of drones. The state government is making concerted efforts for the multi-faceted use of drone technology. The government is continuously monitoring the program from drone sprinkling of fertilizers to taking benefits of development and welfare projects to the farmers.
These things were said by Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi during the Drone Demonstration program organized by Syngenta Company in Baltikara village of Baitalpur development block. He said that digitally driven agriculture is becoming the need of the hour. Uttar Pradesh, a leader in the production of paddy, wheat, millet, barley in cereals, has a huge scope for use of drones in many ways in agriculture. Mustard, linseed, sesame, groundnut, gram, peas, lentils and tur are grown in abundance in the state. Now we can see the benefits of new technology in agriculture sector and can feel the technological change happening in the world and this drone technology will not only provide employment to youth but will also solve labor shortage as well as improve soil and environment. It will also help in saving. Drone technology will also help in fulfilling our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment of doubling farmers’ income. This technology will protect the crops from insects, flies and locusts besides reducing the cost of spraying and increase their income.
The Agriculture Minister informed that Drone Spraying can help farmers to spray one acre of field in just seven minutes which can help in saving labor cost and increase the efficiency of the farmers. During the Drone Demonstration Program, 400 farmers were introduced to this new technology. During this, Deputy Director Agriculture Vikesh Kumar Patel, District Agriculture Officer Mohammad Muzzamil, representatives of Syngenta Company and various officers were present.
