Educational institutions must help enrich students from cultural point of view – Anandiben Patel
Lucknow: State Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel reviewed the presentation prepared for NAAC grading of Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi at Raj Bhavan. The University has earlier received ‘A’ grade in its NAAC assessment, which expired in the year 2019. The Governor took information from the members of the point-wise committee on all the seven criteria of NAAC. She instructed to make extensive improvements in the presentation.
In the meeting, the reforms completed in compliance with the suggestions given by the peer team for quality improvement during the pre-NAAC evaluation of the university were also analysed. Keeping in view the lack of coordination among the team members on various subjects, the Governor directed to improve the presentation by working with team spirit. He said that point-wise preparation should be done on the points included in each criteria of NAAC.
Discussing Criteria-1 in the presentation, it was suggested to include programs for transgenders in the university and photographs as evidence in the presentation. Describing the presentation of Criteria-2 as weak, the Governor directed to get it rewritten. She said that while improving at the university level, teachers should strengthen the mentor-mentee relationship with their students and hold group meetings with their students every week, and find solutions to their problems and queries. She laid special emphasis on the result marking of the university. In the midst of discussing several reforms in Criteria-3, she asked to make arrangements to make the manuscripts available in the university available to the research students.
During the discussion, the Governor said that the university is located in a very special religious area. Encourage students for research on various philosophies by preparing projects related to religious places located around it. He said that the university should also pay attention to such courses, which help students in earning money. In today’s meeting, while reiterating his earlier instructions to make horoscopes of orphans and children born in institutional delivery, the Governor also emphasized on compliance of earlier instructions. He also pointed out the need to modernize the classrooms of the university.
In his earlier meeting, the Governor directed the university to improve its S.S.R. During the analysis in today’s meeting, instructions were again given to bring excellence in presentation with this suggestion. In order to enrich the details of evaluation point of best practice to the University, the Governor asked the students of the University to celebrate anniversaries, festivals etc. with Indian customs, knowledge of rituals and traditions, recitation of Sanskrit shlokas and its Asked to get the work done to know the meaning and practice of memorizing the parts of Gita. She also instructed to organize Saraswati Puja in rural schools and involve parents in this event. Along with this, the Governor insisted all the members of the NAAC team to get the highest grade in the assessment.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, Officer on Special Duty, Education, Pankaj Johny, Vice-Chancellor of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, Prof. Anand Kumar Tyagi, members of the NAAC assessment preparation team constituted by the Sanskrit University and other officials were present.
