Lucknow: To address the challenges faced by the farmers across the state due to precipitation and scanty rainfall, the State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi reviewed the departmental preparations and strategy. He said that in view of the situation of precipitation, in the coming week, under the PM Kusum Yojana, solar irrigation pump for Rabi seeds and the distribution of insurance policy to all the insured farmers under the Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana, under the “Mera Policy Mera Haath” campaign, proposed to be done by Chief Minister Yogi.
Shahi informed that a one-day workshop field visit and demonstration of agricultural drones of progressive farmers doing natural farming, Namami Gange and traditional organic farming is to be organized on 09 September in village Palra Dhodhar block-Bidhnu of Kanpur city.
Chief Secretary Durgashankar Mishra and Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi and other senior officers will also participate in this program.
Efforts are being made to make Krishi Vigyan Kendra a model center for agricultural production and productivity. In this series, a three-day workshop is proposed to be organized at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut from September 10 to 12, 2022 with the scientists and in-charges of all 89 Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the state.
In this workshop, the progress review report of 01 year will be presented by the respective KBKs and further strategy will be discussed. Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Sanjeev Balyan, Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Director General ICAR will also participate in this workshop.
In this workshop, a live demonstration of the use of agricultural drones, the use of fertilizers, agricultural defense chemicals will also be done. Weather related information and oilseed and pulses where crop damage has occurred at present will be discussed.
Apart from this, according to the impact of climate change on crops, everyone’s suggestions on Climate Resilience will be discussed in relation to short duration crops, alternative crops and other suitable techniques.
Agriculture Minister informed that Krishi Vigyan Kendra Basti has been rewarded by ICAR as a good KVK for digital innovation. Krishi Vigyan Kendra Haidergarh, Barabanki has been selected for Outlook Agritech Summit and Award-2022. In this program, in the presence of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Minister Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel, awards were given by Outlook Group. Ashok Dalwai, CEO, NARA, Government of India, Padma Bhushan, Prof. Ram Badan Singh, former President, National Academy of Agriculture Science, Pramod Kumar Joshi, former Director South Asia International Food Policy Research Institute, Sandeep Kumar Nayak, Director General, National Experts like Productivity Council and Dinanath Thakur National President Sahakar Bharati were nominated.
The twelfth installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, the ambitious scheme of the Government of India, is to be released soon. For this, action is being taken on a war footing to verify EKYC land records, on site verification and upload their data on PM Kisan portal.
The number of farmers is 2.85 crore, the number of identified ineligible farmers is 0.21 crore, the total number of actual farmers is 2.65 crore, the number of verified farmers is 1.71 crore. The number of farmers recorded in the land records is 1.62 crore, the number of farmers uploaded on the portal is 1.51 crore. The number of farmers covered by EKYC is 1.70 crore.
The Minister informed that verification work is to be done in 96,459 revenue villages of the state, out of which verification work has been completed in 80,005 villages. Verification work in remaining villages will be completed soon. In the verification of the beneficiary farmers of PM Kisan, after obtaining their address and mobile number through banks and establishing contact with the farmers, the process of marking them by verifying their land records is also being done. Under the scheme, the process of verification of Bhulekh marking and uploading of data of all eligible farmers on the portal will be completed by 09 September 2022.
The Agriculture Minister has appealed to the farmers that the remaining beneficiary farmers of the state should take advantage of this scheme by contacting the Tehsil/Agriculture Department personnel, all the action related to the Bhu-lekh marking verification and portal related to PM Kisan Nidhi.
