Efforts will be made to acknowledge efforts of Divyangjans by bringing them to mainstream –  Narendra Kashyap

Lucknow:  Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, many efforts are being made to make  lives of Divyangjan happy. Disabled people are being provided  primary education to higher education. Dr. Shakuntala Mishra Rehabilitation University Lucknow is playing an important role in providing higher education to the specially able. The State Government is laying emphasis on making every Divyangjan educated and self-reliant. The work of UID card and Aadhaar seeding is being done so that only the eligible Divyangjans get the benefits of the schemes being run by the state government.

Government buildings and institutions are being made accessible for the disabled. State’s Minister of State for Divyangjan (Independent Charge) Narendra Kashyap said these things at the state level prize distribution ceremony to disabled people on World Disabled Day.

In the academic year 2021-2022, along with a total of 23 individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions in the field of disability, 34 students who scored more than 80 percent in high school and 75 percent in intermediate were honored with the Disability Award. In a program organized at the Atal Auditorium of Dr. Shakuntala Mishra Rehabilitation University, Lucknow, Minister of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Narendra Kashyap, while expressing his views as the chief guest, said that under the Divyang Pension Yojana, the maintenance grant to the Divyangjans has been increased from Rs.300 to Rs.1000 per month. The state government is working on increasing the amount of maintenance grant soon. He said that the obstacle or difficulty of the Divyangjan is continuously being removed by the Divyangjan Empowerment Department.

The Divyangjan Minister congratulated the Divyang students and persons who were awarded on Divyang Day. He said that keep showcasing your talent in such a way that you can make your name famous in every field. He praised the stalls of products made by Divyangjan on Divyang Divas. He said that Divyangjan children displayed their products and art in the stall. He said that Divyang Diwas is the day to do something for the Divyangjan and bring light in their lives. The central and state governments are always ready for the welfare of the disabled and are determined to rehabilitate the disabled. The Divyangjan Empowerment Department is working as a bridge to make the schemes of the government accessible to the Divyangjans.

The  Minister said that Rs 3000 per month is being given under the Leprosy Pension Scheme. To connect the disabled with the main stream, the scheme of artificial limbs and accessories and the scheme of providing motorized tricycles free of cost is in operation. The UP government also provides award money for marrying Divyangjans. The government provides funds for running their own shops under the shop construction and operation scheme to make them self-reliant and there is also a provision of a grant of Rs. Divyangjans are being provided free bus travel facility in UP State Road Transport Corporation buses.

The Divyangjan Minister said that a state fund has been arranged to help the Divyangjan. Mamta, Sparsh, Sanket, Prayas special schools for Divyangjan are being run and Bachpan Day Care Center and Integrated Special Secondary Schools have been established to bring Divyangjan into the general stream and world class Dr. Shakuntala Mishra, National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow has run He is going. It is a matter of pleasure for Uttar Pradesh that an international level indoor stadium is also available in the state to promote sports for the disabled.

Additional Chief Secretary Divyangjan Hemant Rao gave a welcome address to the special guests present in the program and informed about the various schemes being run by the department. The vote of thanks of the program was done by Director Satya Prakash Patel. Dr. Rana Krishna Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Shakuntala Mishra Rehabilitation University, Special Secretary and State Commissioner for Disabilities Ajit Kumar and other officials and students and teachers with disabilities were present in the programme.
