Empowering the diasabled should be our first priority – Narendra Kashyap
Lucknow: 100% benefit of the scholarship scheme should be given to eligible students belonging to backward classes. There should not be any kind of negligence or laxity in this. Action should be taken to send grants related to the schemes to the eligible students in their accounts on time. State level programs should be organized to encourage the disabled. The said instructions were given by State Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Backward Classes Welfare Narendra Kashyap during the review meeting.
On the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Backward Classes Welfare was holding a departmental review meeting at his office in the Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday. Expressing his displeasure on the officials, he said that they should work for the welfare of the disabled and backward classes. He said that the state government is working for the welfare of the Divyangjans and the people belonging to the backward classes, take interest in it. He asked the officers to think positively and take their problems sensitively for the upliftment of the disabled and backward class people and to add them to the mainstream of the society.
Minister Narendra Kashyap first reviewed the schemes run in the Backward Classes Welfare Department. He said that more and more eligible students should be benefited under the scholarship scheme run for the welfare of backward classes. He has given instructions to repair the operated hostels, so that the students living in them do not face any kind of inconvenience. He said that the computer training program for the backward class students for the financial year 2023-24 should be completed as per the prescribed time table, so that the students can start computer training on time.
Minister Narendra Kashyap reviewed the schemes run for the disabled. He directed the officers to hold meetings with organizations for the benefit of the disabled. Apart from this, meeting with the departmental officers and taking district-level feedback should be ensured to solve the problems of the disabled. It was informed in the meeting that the work of Aadhaar seeding of Divyangjan has been completed. He directed that the state fund should be used for the disabled. The works of Dr. Shakuntala Rehabilitation University established for the disabled were reviewed. He directed that the disabled should get the benefit of the schemes run by the state government in the university.
Concerned officers including Additional Chief Secretary Divyangjan Empowerment and Backward Classes Welfare Hemant Rao, and Director Backward Classes Welfare Vandana Verma, and Commissioner Divyangjan Ajit Kumar were present in the meeting.
