Lucknow: Women have an important place in Indian culture. She has been involved in every work of the society. In ancient times, women have been intelligent, knowledgeable and the nurturer of the social system. Women are not only housewives but they have also been skilled in running the state. Today women in our country are serving the nation by working efficiently in various fields like industry, business, education, administration, science, technology, force, sports etc.
She has a special contribution in various cottage industries, home industries, agricultural works etc. at the village level. Today, working in every field, women are strengthening the financial foundation of the family, as well as becoming a participant in the development of the nation.
The Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath is fulfilling the concept of empowerment and security, respect, self-respect and employment of the women of the state. The state government is benefitting women by running many schemes for their all-round development.
Crores of girls, women have benefited from the schemes run by the state government and are praising the schemes of the government. Various schemes are being run by the state government for the upliftment of women.
Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojna– To establish equal sex ratio and prevent female feticide in the state, to strengthen the health and education of girl child, to provide financial assistance to the girl’s family and to develop a positive attitude among the general public towards the girl child, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath had announced the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana in March, 2019. This scheme came into effect from April 01, 2019. For the operation of the scheme, a web portal (UlanchanchavAnpad) has been developed. The amount payable under the scheme is directly transferred to the beneficiary eligible’s bank account through PFMS. Under the scheme, mainly such beneficiaries are eligible whose family is resident of Uttar Pradesh, whose family annual income is maximum Rs. 3.00 lakh and whose family has maximum two children.
Under the scheme, girls are given assistance in total 4 categories. Rs.2000 at the time of birth, Rs.1000 on completion of one year vaccination, Rs.2000 at the time of admission in class-1, Rs.2000 at the time of admission in class-6, Rs.3000 at the time of admission in class-9 and 10th/Twelfth examination 5000 is provided in lump sum after passing degree or taking admission in diploma course of two years or more. A total of 3.67 lakh beneficiaries have been benefited under the scheme in the year 2020-21. This year also, the Chief Minister has sent money to the accounts of thousands of girls.
Women’s Helpline 181– For the safety and social, economic empowerment of women and girls, initiative was taken by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the form of 181-Women’s Helpline.
Is. 181 is a toll free number which works 24X7. On the Women Helpline, any woman and girl who is suffering from adverse circumstances or needs advice for fulfilling any other type of problem or need, can get help by calling on the toll free number. In the year 2020-21, 19189 women have been assisted under the scheme. In the current year also, women are being helped.
One Stop Center Scheme- One Stop Center funded by Government of India was started in the financial year 2016-17. The objective of the scheme is to provide all the necessary services to the women victims of violence like short stay (five days), medical aid, counseling services, legal aid and police assistance etc. under one roof. At present, one stop center is being operated in all the districts of the state. In the financial year 2020-21, assistance has been provided to 10,226 women/girls. which is continuously operated.
Destitute Women Pension Scheme after the death of husband – Under the Destitute Women Pension Scheme being run by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the eligible beneficiaries are paid pension at the rate of Rs 500 per month in four quarters through PFMS. Under this scheme, women above the age of 18 years who are permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh and their husbands have died and their family annual income does not exceed Rs.2.00 lakhs. The amount due to the eligible beneficiaries is transferred to their bank account through PFMS. Under this scheme, 27.95 lakh beneficiaries have been benefited in the financial year 2020-21. Under the above, in the last year, in the form of special package of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, along with regular grant to the eligible beneficiaries, additional amount of Rs.1000 in 02 installments of Rs.500 each has also been provided.
Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme– This scheme is a 100% sponsored scheme by the Government of India. The objective of the scheme is to improve the declining sex ratio, encourage the education of girl child and develop a positive attitude among the general public towards the girl child. This scheme is being implemented in all the districts of the state. In the financial year 2020-21, a total of Rs 10.11 crore has been spent by the districts covered under the scheme and 73.60 lakh women and girls have been made aware through a total of 1.96 lakh activities.
Mahila Shakti Kendra– Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme to empower women to achieve their rights, through awareness, training and capacity building.
Provides interface for contacting the car. Under this scheme, at present operations are being conducted in 64 districts of the state by selecting staff in Mahila Shakti Kendras. In the financial year 2020-21, through a total of 37,406 activities, 18.46 lakh women and girls have been made aware and 12.76 women and girls have been linked to women centric schemes.
Rani Laxmibai Bal and Mahila Samman Kosh– The state government is very sensitive towards women victims of heinous crimes against women and girls. Under the fund, financial compensation of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10 lakh is provided to women and girls suffering from heinous crimes. In addition, provision of free medical facility has also been made. Under the scheme, financial assistance has been given to 4937 women and girls with 721 approved cases in the year 2020-21.
Mission Shakti Abhiyan – Under the guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister, the Government of Uttar Pradesh started a massive campaign in the form of “Mission Shakti” with the objectives of “Safety, Empowerment and Honor of Women and Children” during Shardiya Navratri. On the occasion from 17 October 2020. Which is being operated by 27 departments including Uttar Pradesh Women’s Welfare, Police, and social-service organizations and educational institutions. The major problems of violence against women and children include domestic violence, drug abuse, eve-teasing, rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual abuse, acid attacks, cybercrime, mental and physical abuse at workplace and other places including exploitation, trafficking, child includes marriage, discrimination, child labour, etc. Through “Mission Shakti”, every effort is being made to sensitize the general public including the representatives involved in the government, officers and personnel working in various departments on all these issues related to women and children. Along with this, emphasis is being laid on making women and children especially girls and youth self-reliant in the state.
“Government ki Pathshala” was also organized for youth, mainly girls, to make them self-reliant and self-reliant and to join them in various administrative posts and professions, and also towards “mental health and psychosocial issues” in the society. Awareness was raised. In view of the safety of women, “Women Help Desk”, “Pink Booth”, “Pink Toilet” and “Pink Scooty” have also been started in all the police stations. Under this campaign, 8.50 crore men, women, girls, general public have been made aware. The Chief Minister of the state has also launched ‘Mission Shakti’ third in the state, which will run till December 2021.
Smoke-free women under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana – Most of the wood, coal are used as fuel for cooking in rural life, due to which smoke has a bad effect on the health of women. The Prime Minister of the country realized this pain of women and by implementing Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in the whole country, giving free home cooking gas with stove and getting rid of smoke to women. Under this scheme implemented in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji, 1.47 crore women have been provided gas connections with free stove in the first phase.
The second phase of this has also been started by the Prime Minister from Mahoba district. On August 25, 2021, the Chief Minister of the state gave LPG gas connections to lakhs of women of the state and liberated them from smoke along with their safety, respect, health.
Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme– In Indian society, financial problems arise for the education, marriage of daughters of poor, economically weaker section families, widows, divorced, abandoned women etc. The Chief Minister has implemented the Chief Minister’s mass marriage scheme by giving financial assistance of Rs. In which, for the establishment of a household and happiness in married life, Rs.35 thousand in the account of the girl, Rs.10,000 for clothes, beech, anklets and Rs.6 thousand for organizing the marriage of each couple, arrangements are made by the government. So far, about 1.55 lakh poor girls of the state have been benefited by getting them married.
Employed in employment through women self-help groups– The aim of the Chief Minister of the state is that if women are financially strong, then the whole family will move forward. That is why in order to make women self-reliant, women self-help groups are formed under the Uttar Pradesh State National Rural Livelihood Mission for enterprise, business, animal husbandry etc. The state government is employing women by providing revolving funds and loans at low interest to the groups formed. Women of the state are being financially empowered through women’s groups. Women are providing financial strength to the family by doing various enterprises, businesses, milk production, animal husbandry, etc. The state government has engaged more than one crore women by forming more than 10 lakh self-help groups in the state. Today women are becoming self-sufficient and providing financial support to the family. The state government is also making arrangements for marketing of various items produced by women. This made women self-reliant.
Banking Correspondent Sakhi – In the direction of encouraging and benefiting the villagers through various schemes and financial transactions through financial inclusion at the doorstep of the rural areas, the Chief Minister has appointed through various banks in the Gram Panchayats. In this 58758 women have been made Banking Correspondent Sakhi.
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana– Under this scheme, special attention has been paid to about 40 lakh pregnant and lactating women in the state while paying more than Rs 1536 crore in their accounts. Keeping in view the health of pregnant and lactating women in the state, nutrition is also distributed to them from each anganwadi centers. Under the leadership of the Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath ji, keeping women at the center, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Old Age Pension Scheme, ownership of rural residential records (Gharauni) are being benefited in the schemes in the name of the woman head of the house. The State Government has engaged women sanitation workers in all the 58758 community toilets built in the villages and employed them.
The state government is empowering the women of the state at every level. Today, women have become partners in the all-round development of the state.
