Empowerment of youth through skills the need of the hour says Governor Anandiben Patel
Lucknow: State Governor Anandiben Patel inaugurated the newly constructed building of the regional center of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Prayagraj in district Kanpur. This building is situated at Plot no-4 Block W Yojna-2 B M Market, Juhi Kanpur.
On this occasion, the Governor said in her address that universities should start public welfare programs with innovative changes in their education courses. People who have been deprived of education have high hopes from the Open University. Youth need knowledge as well as innovative technology, training and skill development.
Inaugurating the building of Regional Center Kanpur, she said that Kanpur city is the industrial capital of Uttar Pradesh. There are many industrial areas and industrial houses here.
The university should cooperate with them and provide training to the youth. So that they can get skilled employment. She said that according to the need of the hour, there is a need for training of youth in the field of skill development, incubation centers and startups etc.
The Governor said that our new generation should be proficient in technical knowledge. The Open University should inform the farmers about the programs based on advanced farming, that they should do such farming which makes the soil fertile. She emphasized on providing nutritious food to the women.
She said that the year 2023 is being celebrated as Shri Anna Varsh in India. The Governor said that the Open University should also sign MoUs with technical universities so that the youth skilled in technical knowledge can also get an opportunity to study.
On this occasion, Higher Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Yogendra Upadhyay said that at present positive changes are taking place in the field of education in Uttar Pradesh. She said that the utility of distance education is increasing and the anomalies in the education world are getting removed. Minister of State for Higher Education Rajni Tiwari said that there is a great need for distance education at present. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Seema Singh gave a brief introduction of the University.
On this occasion, a book on ‘Ozone conservation is a challenge’ was also released by Governor Anandiben Patel. On this occasion, the Governor also gave the message of water conservation along with Jal Bharo program by flowing water in Matki. The Mayor of Kanpur Pramila Pandey, MLA Mahesh Trivedi, Neelima Katiyar, Director of the University, officers and distinguished people were present in the programme.
