English cricket great Nasser Hussain sees promise in India’s bowling attack
New Delhi: Former England captain Nasser Hussain believes that India had the ‘Fab 5’ batsmen in the early 2000s but now its bowling unit is the best.
India’s three fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj along with spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav have performed brilliantly.
These five played an important role in India’s nine consecutive wins in the league stage.
Hussain told Star Sports, “This bowling unit of India is the best so far. They have had many good bowlers but this time as a unit they are the best.” If he goes, Siraj will get him out.
If you avoid Siraj, how will you avoid Shami? If you avoid these three, the spinners will take your wicket.” He compared India’s bowlers with five Indian batsmen of the 2000s, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. He said, “At that time there were Fab 5 in batting and now there are Fab 5 in bowling.”
