Ensuring action on illegally operated brick kilns through Deputy Collector

Lucknow:  Uttar Pradesh Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna has directed the officers to ensure that action is taken against illegally operated brick kilns in the state through the Deputy Collector. He said that brick kilns should not be operated illegally.

Khanna was holding a meeting with representatives of various departments and Brick Kiln Association regarding the brick kilns operating in the state in Room No-80 located at Vidhan Bhavan. He said that the process related to the purchase of coal to be given to the brick kilns by the UP Small Industries Corporation should be completed at the earliest.

The Finance Minister directed the officers of the Mining Department to make a proposal as soon as possible for necessary amendments in the Mineral Rules, which can be presented before the cabinet. He directed the officers of the GST department to post nodal officers at the headquarters and district level for registration and other facilities in relation to brick kilns. Businessmen associated with brick kilns should not face any problem in the registration and operation of brick kilns. Care must be taken to ensure that there is no inconvenience to the brick kiln owners who operate the brick kiln as per rules.
