Haridwar: Taking note of the sudden surge in Coronavirus cases in the country, the Uttarakhand High Court has given strict orders that it will be mandatory to show negative reports of RT-PCR test for those coming to the Haridwar Kumbh.
The instructions come at a time when Coronavirus cases in India are increasing day by day. Notably the ill effects of Corona are still visible on Haridwar Kumbh. Meanwhile the High Court has condemned Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat’s decision where he allowed people without Corona test to visit Kumbh.
The Uttarakhand High Court was hearing a public interest litigation filed for the Kumbh Mela. It said guidelines issued by the central and state government should be strictly followed. It has also been cleared that those who have got vaccinated may be exempted.
Kumbh Mela has started in Uttarakhand in March. Former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat mandated RT-PCR negative report for people coming to Kumbh. However, the new Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat changed the decision.
