Even if I violate Road Safety Rules, action should follow : Dayashankar Singh
Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath Government’s Transport Minister (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh has issued strict instructions to the officers and said that if the ministers break the rules on the roads of UP, action should be taken against them.
He said that if I myself violate the rules of road safety, then action should be taken against me as well. He said that the figure of road accidents in Uttar Pradesh has to be reduced by 50 percent.
It will be our endeavor that everyone implements the rules of road safety in their daily routine. A campaign should be launched to follow them.
The Transport Minister directed the officers that if any minister or myself is violating the rules of road safety, then action should be taken against me as well. Dayashankar Singh was speaking at the PWD Auditorium on Saturday on the closing occasion of Road Safety Month organized by the Transport Department from January 5 to February 4.
He said that during his tenure of 10 months as Transport Minister, he realized that the biggest task of the Transport Department is road safety, but we keep this task at the last level.
The first step of the department will be to prevent road accidents on the theme of road safety and survival. So far this has been the last step of the department. In such a situation, the Transport Department should try to prevent road accidents by including road safety on the first priority in its work. Because more people have lost their lives in road accidents in one year than those who did not die of Corona in two years.
CM serious about road safety: Jitin
Public Works Department Minister Jitin Prasada said that road safety is one of the main priorities of the Chief Minister. Transport department is its nodal department. Health Department, Education Department, PWD are working in coordination with each other. We are confident that we will reduce that figure in the face of all odds and challenges.
