Expect light drizzle to bring much needed respite from heat
Gorakhpur: The weather has changed after midnight in Purvanchal. It has been drizzling since morning after strong winds in the surrounding areas including Gorakhpur. Clouds have started showing effect in Lucknow as well. People can get relief from the scorching sun and heat.
May has thundered and rained for the first time in three decades. Most of the Western Disturbances occurred this month and are likely to happen further. According to meteorologists, the fresh disturbance has started from Tuesday night, whose effect will continue till May 28.
There will be heavy rain within 48 hours
The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain with thunderstorms at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour for the next 5 days i.e. from 21 to 28 May. Most parts are in the grip of extreme heat.
However, due to the activation of Western Disturbance, a series of thunderstorms and rains may start in many parts after a day or two. After that, the weather is likely to remain pleasant for the next five days. It is likely to rain in most parts of the state within the next 48 hours.

Baghpat, Bareilly, Badaun, Agra, Mathura, Moradabad, Amroha, Ghaziabad, Noida, Bulandshahr, Meerut, Hapur, Saharanpur, Aligarh, Hathras, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Shahjahanpur, Etah, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Shamli, Bijnor, Najibabad, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Kannauj, Chitrakoot, Kanpur Dehat, Prayagraj, Varanasi including Loni Dehat of West UP, Hindon Air Force Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram Chhapraula, Baraut, Baghpat, Meerut, Khekra, Modinagar, Kithore, Garhmukteshwar, Light intensity rains may occur in Pilkhua, Hapur, Siyana, Bulandshahr, Secunderabad, Jahangirabad.
Pre-monsoon rains till May 28
CSA University meteorologist Dr. SN Sunil Pandey said that there is a possibility of pre-monsoon rains in UP till May 28. It may rain in entire UP from 23rd and 24th May. The humidity will continue in Kanpur division with strong sunshine. Scattered clouds may persist.
Rain in Jalaun, drop in maximum temperature
The weather pattern changed in Jalaun of Bundelkhand on Tuesday morning. It has been raining here since morning. Due to strong winds, electric wires broke in many areas. Due to the rain, there has been a drop in the maximum temperature.
Rain, hailstorm in siddharthnagar
The weather changed suddenly at around 1.45 pm on Monday late night in Itwa of Siddharth Nagar. Strong winds started blowing. In a short while the wind had taken the form of a gale. Somewhere tin sheds were flying and somewhere a tree branch was breaking and falling. There was hail with light rain in the midst of thunder.
