Expecting good yield from rabi crops, Yogi government is conducting crop cutting experiment in 80 thousand gram panchayats
Lucknow: This year, not only the farmers but also the government has high hopes from the Rabi crops in the state. In view of this, the Yogi government is conducting more than 3 lakh crop cutting experiments in about 80 thousand gram panchayats.
Crop cutting experiment is to be done 100 percent through the CCE Agri App created by the Central Government, which will be edited by the employees of the State Revenue Department. The harvesting time of Rabi crops in Uttar Pradesh has started from February 25, which will continue till May 10.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed all the District Magistrates to hold a review meeting every week regarding the harvesting of crops.
Total 3.18 lakh crop cutting experiments in 79,622 gram panchayats
The harvesting phase of Rabi season 2022-23 has started in Uttar Pradesh. The government’s assessment is that this time the condition of all the crops is good. Presently, the harvesting season of Lahi-mustard, potato, lentils, gram, linseed, barley and wheat is going on. The Yogi government has started crop cutting experiment to find out the actual figures of production.
According to the data available from the experiment, the government will be able to estimate the yield accurately. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a total of 3.18 lakh crop cutting experiments are being conducted in 79,622 gram panchayats of the state. For this, instructions have already been issued by the Board of Revenue.
Two days back, Chief Secretary Durgashankar Mishra has also reviewed the current status of crop cutting experiments. During this, he was told that against 3.18 lakh experiments, till now editing of 3742 experiments has been completed through CCE Agri App.
Every farmer will get compensation for crop cutting experiment
Officers of the Agriculture, Revenue and Development Department have been nominated by the District Magistrates for the correctness of the data obtained from the crop cutting experiments to be organized in all the districts of the state. Apart from this, crop cutting experiments are also being observed by the representatives of empaneled insurance companies in the state under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Not only this, an honorarium of Rs 80 will be provided to the accountant, Rs 80 to the laborer and Rs 100 to the farmer for crop cutting.
On behalf of the Chief Minister, instructions have also been given to the District Magistrates that crop cutting should be used only after talking to the farmers selected by Lekhpal. Farmers should be informed well in advance about the date of crop cutting. The CM has directed the officers to send the data received from crop cutting to the Revenue Council and Directorate of Agriculture only after testing and approving it according to the crop variety. Except in special circumstances, the duty of revenue personnel should not be diverted for other works.
Why crop cutting experiment is done
Crop cutting experiments are carried out by governments and agricultural bodies to accurately estimate the yield of a crop or area during a given cultivation cycle. Its main objective is to determine the yield of the cropped area, to estimate the crop grown in a particular area, whether it will be deficit or surplus in a particular year, the government also finds out through crop cutting experiments.
It also helps in determining whether a particular crop is to be imported or exported.
