Expedite work on Amrit Sarovars urges Depy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has given clear instructions to the officials of the Rural Development Department to take all necessary steps to expedite the construction work of Amrit Sarovars.

Amrit Sarovar should be built in such a way that it becomes a part of the development of the village and becomes a rural tourism center. He said  Amrit Sarovar should prove to be a boon for water harvesting and conservation and should also prove helpful in environmental protection and promotion. He said a positive message should be sent to the society by the construction of Amrit Sarovar. He directed that the high officers of the department, Chief Development Officer and Block Development Officer should make surprise inspection of the works of Amrit Sarovar. Strict action should be taken against the officers and employees.

He directed that a booklet should be published about the works done in the MLA fund and it should be distributed to the MLAs.

In this, the amount to be allocated work wise and the time limit fixed for completing the works should also be mentioned.  Keshav Prasad Maurya was reviewing the progress of works of Rural Development Department in his room at Vidhan Bhawan.

While reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), Maurya said that after the selection of eligible beneficiaries in this scheme, strictest action should be taken against the concerned if found ineligible. He said that it has come to his notice that after the release of the first installment in some cases, while sending the second installment somewhere and in some cases the third installment, it is mentioned that the beneficiary is ineligible and the next installment is not given to him.  He said that this uncomfortable situation should not come at all. The eligibility should be duly tested in advance. He said that except in some serious circumstances, if such cases are found in future, strict action would be ensured against the sanctioning officers and employees.

Keshav Prasad Maurya asserted that the Block Development Officer will reside at the Block Headquarters and the higher officials should ensure that the Block Development Officer must reside at the Block Headquarters. It should be done from and its observation should also be compulsorily done by the concerned officer.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that he would undertake a Gram Vikas Yatra and would also inspect the projects of village development during the Yatra said that a nodal officer should be nominated for this. He said that in addition to the works prescribed in MNREGA, an action plan should be prepared to include more works related to village development. On getting information about the payment of women’s mats by Maurya, it was told that Rs.1500 crores has been paid for Mahila Sakhis and Rs.250 crores will be sent on Friday. He said that distribution of acceptance letters etc. in the beneficiary schemes of the department should be done while organizing the function. He said that a list of 75 rivers, which are being revived this year, should be made available.

He said that the revised cast’s article about the procession house and funeral site should be presented soon. Maurya directed that a draft should be made for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme (Rural).
