Fake call centre scam goes bust in joint police operation
Gautambudhnagar/ Lucknow: STF, Uttar Pradesh was getting information for some time that by calling the customers in the name of Max Life Insurance Company and PNB Mat Life Insurance, their policy has expired or some amount of the policy is outstanding and after getting cheque of small amount from them. They are being cheated by filling the cheque in front of the policy holder in a forged manner. In this regard, various teams/units of STF UP were directed to take necessary action.
In this sequence, under the supervision of Pramesh Kumar Shukla, Deputy Superintendent of Police, STF, UP, the process of gathering information was started by the team located at STF Headquarters and the intelligence system was activated. During this it came to know that in the name of Max Life Insurance Company and PNB MAT Life Insurance, the police station, Jankipuram, Police Commissionerate Lucknow has registered a case against the gang who cheated the customers.
Intimation was being received regarding the unveiling of the above case and arrest of the accused and fraudsters being active in Noida, on which sub-inspector Javed Alam led by Sub-Inspector Santosh Kumar from STF Headquarters. Siddiqui, Chief Minister Mrityunjay Rai, Army Commando Ravind Kumar Yadav and Chief / Driver Suresh Singh along with STF field unit, a team from Gautam Budh Nagar and Police Station Jankipuram along with the case investigator was Mamur in Noida district.
Meanwhile, on the information of the informer, a member of the gang was arrested near Ashok Nagar Delhi Border, Mother Dairy by using necessary force.
The arrested person gave his name as Sumit Pandey and on strict interrogation, he told about the illegally running call center at B-127 Sector-2, Noida, which is being operated by Ankit Kumar and Sumit Pandey. Arrested three more accused on reaching the place mentioned by him, who gave his name as above, and recovery was made from the arrested accused as above.
On interrogation of the above accused, it was told by these people that by getting the data of Max Life Insurance Company and PNB Mat Life Insurance through the call center, they bluffed the customers to pay the amount of their expired policy and the ongoing policy. By giving information about the increase in the amount, we receive small amount checks like Rs 120, 170, 180 and we fill all the details on that check with our PAN Pilot Frixon and after getting the signature of the check from the customer, we get the account payee check. takes.
After that, ink remover is installed at the bottom of the PAN, so that these people erase the details on the check from it and get the check cashed by entering the details of more amount as per their wish. The specialty of the Frixen pen is that the letters can be erased very neatly for one to five days. Ankit took out two pans from the rack of the table and showed them by writing on a plain paper with one pan. These people get a canceled check in the name of getting loan to the people and draw a line on it from the above PAN itself, who later erase it and from the bank’s number to the customer’s number in the account from the account number mentioned on the check issued by the customer.
After knowing the available amount, fill the amount accordingly and get the check cashed. Similarly, after taking a canceled check from Sachin Tiwari, a line was drawn on it with a Frixan pen, later Rs 185,000 / – was withdrawn through this check, on which Sachin Tiwari had taken the police station-phase-1, Noida, SM 45/2020 Section 420 IPC was registered.
On further interrogation, Ankit told that before this, in 2020, these people have gone to jail from police station Kotwali countryside in Bulandshahr district under M.O. 394/2020 Section 420/467/468/471 Bhadvi and Sumit told that he is Jai Chaudhary He has also been jailed from and from Thana Phase-2, Noida Gautam Budh Nagar. It was also told by these people that a similar incident has been done by these people together in police station Bisrakh area about a year ago and in police station Sector-58 about 10 months ago. Earlier this year, a similar incident was carried out by these people in Sector-10 together.
In relation to the above arrested accused, the charges registered in different districts have been decided and in relation to other crimes committed by this gang, a thorough investigation is being done.
Advance legal action is being taken by the local police in the cases registered against the above arrested accused in Police Station Jankipuram, Police Commissionerate Lucknow and Commissionerate Gautam Budh Nagar.
