Lucknow: Energy and Additional Energy Resources Minister Shrikant Sharma said that now farmers do not have to stay awake throughout the night to worry about cold in the fields for irrigation and other agricultural works.
By doing feeder separation, the farmer is getting uninterrupted power on the farm for ten hours a day. He said that in the earlier governments, farmers had to stay awake throughout the night. There was no trace of electricity, for a while, as soon as the electricity came in the night, till the farmer started running the tube well, the electricity went out again.
Now there is electricity on separate agriculture feeder from 7 am to 5 pm. Farmers are getting electricity of Rs 7.55 for just Rs 1.25. The Energy Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there has been an increase of 334 percent in the work of feeder separation being done to provide 18 hours electricity to villages and 10 hours electricity for irrigation under the Yogi government of the state.
Till the year 2017-18, 513 agricultural and rural feeders were isolated. At the same time, 2227 feeders were separated by 2020-21 in the present government of the state.
The Energy Minister said that now the farmer sleeps peacefully at night. At the same time, dependence on diesel has also been relieved. In the earlier governments, the dependency on diesel used to cost Rs 25-30 per unit for irrigation. Which has now become just Rs 1.25.
He appealed to the consumers to take advantage of the one-time solution scheme and cooperate in fulfilling the resolution of 24 hours cheap and uninterrupted supply in the entire state. Under the scheme, by paying the principal dues by November 30, get rid of the surcharge of the arrears till September 30.
Consumers can register at the Superintending Engineer, SDO office or CSC of their area and submit the bill.
