Kanpur: On the occasion of the completion of the first year, special metro ride was organised for the children of the housekeeping staff along with the guests*
Today is the first anniversary of metro rail services in Kanpur and on this occasion various programs were organized at Motijheel metro station. On December 28, 2021 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the commercial services of the Metro on the priority section of the Kanpur Metro between IIT-Kanpur and Motijheel. It was a glorious first year for Kanpur Metro and the metro services received immense support and cooperation from the people of the city. Various programs were organized today to make the first anniversary day a memorable one.
The series of programs started at 11.30 am from Motijheel Metro Station. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (UPMRC) first welcomed the group of distinguished guests at Motijheel Metro Station. The group included Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT-Kanpur; Professor Shamsher, Vice Chancellor, HBTU; Jitendra Shukla, Editor, Dainik Jagran; Ashish Tripathi, Editor, Hindustan; Gopal Sharma, former Indian cricketer; Sushri Pallavi Dubey, Regional Director, CLE and participants of photo exhibition.
Along with all the guests, the photography exhibition of photographs related to Kanpur Metro, taken by local journalists of Kanpur was inaugurated at Motijheel Metro Station. Thereafter, UPMRC officials accompanied the guests on a metro ride till IIT-Kanpur station. On today’s auspicious occasion, all the honored guests took a metro ride along with the children of the housekeeping staff of Kanpur Metro.
