Ayodhya: Ayodhya is the land of Rama. It is a land of the Maryada Purushottam and an epicentre of the Ramayana folklore. This Ramnavami was a special one for the holy city. For the first time in a period of 500 years, four brothers Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughna were symbolically coronated with a gold crown. All the brothers were today seated at the Ram Janmabhoomi on the Rama Navami festival.
The crown on the Maryada Purushottam’s head has been specially donated by a devotee for the occasion. This year though there remains a strict ban on the arrival of devotees in Ayodhya.
Therefore, saints without devotees in temples are celebrating Ram Navami festival following the COVID -19 protocol. Rama was born following all rituals. As the momentous occasion arrived, the chants of Rama Naam filled the air.
Every year 20 lakh devotees used to come, where in last years grand Ram Janmotsava was organized in Ayodhya on the occasion of Ram Navami. The event saw a crowd of 20 lakh devotees attend the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. The doors of the temples are closed. Crowds of outside and local devotees are not allowed to gather in Ayodhya.
Amidst all the revelry, police checking was at its peak. There was pin drop silence on the Saryu coast.
As per the temple trust general secretary Champatrai, Lord Ram will be worshipped and there will be a call for him to rid the nation from Corona pandemic.
Following all traditions, the Ramlala temple saw prayers organized by the team of temple priest Satyendra Das.
Ram temple model built in wood by Sharad Babu of Hyderabad was installed in the model temple complex. Along with this, a 7 feet tall statue of Lord Rama, which came from Prabhat Idol Art Center Gwalior, was also installed in the campus.
From 1992 till now, Ramlala has worn silver crown. But now they have been crowned with pure gold.
