Flight from Sharjah to Lucknow makes emergency stopover at Karachi due to ailing patient, later declared dead

Lucknow: An Indigo flight coming from Sharjah to Pakistan had to make an emergency landing at Karachi when one of the passengers onboard suddenly took seriously ill. With the passengers health deteriorating, he was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The plane was later flown to Ahmedabad, from where the passengers reached Lucknow.

IndiGo Flight 6E-1412 reached Lucknow at 2:45 pm. The passenger was later identified as Habibur Rahman Ali Raza (67). The cabin crew informed the air traffic controller about this. After this, on getting permission, the pilot landed the aircraft at Karachi Airport. From here Habibur Rahman was rushed to the hospital, but died on the way. The flight reached Lucknow carrying the remaining 158 passengers.

Sources associated with the airline said that the passengers present in the plane got nervous as soon as the flight received information about the landing in Karachi. The family reached Amausi Airport and spoke to the airline administration. The plane arrived in Lucknow about seven hours late.
