Flurry of activities to celebrate women power under Yogi Government’s Mission Shakti

Lucknow: For the safety, respect and self-reliance of women and children in Uttar Pradesh, an action plan has been prepared for the month of August to December, 2021 under Mission Shakti. Regarding the implementation of the action plan of Mission Shakti, V. Hekali Jhimomi, Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development Department has sent a letter to the District Magistrates.

The Principal Secretary informed that under Mission Shakti 3.0, activities are being conducted by Women Welfare Department and Child Development Services and Nutrition Department under joint action plan. He informed that on August 07, 2021, Haq Ki Baat, a women’s interface program has been organized with the District Magistrates.

On August 11, 2021, meetings of the girl’s birth anniversary and village child protection committees have been held. Self-reliance camps have been organized on 12th August, 2021. He said that on August 19, 2021, a mega-event Raksha Utsav (Program to protect children and women from different types of violence) would be organized.

On August 25, 2021 Swavalamban Camp will be organized.

The Principal Secretary informed that other activities are being organized in different months under Mission Shakti. Under which a step towards possible nutritional promotion by October, 2021, a campaign is being run by the Department of Child Development Services and Nutrition. On the last day of every month till December 2021, district level child protection action plan will be followed for empowerment of women and adolescent girls and eradication of child marriage and the buildings of government houses are being renovated.

The Principal Secretary said that under the Mega Event Raksha Utsav on August 19, 2021, public awareness would be made among the general public by organizing programs to protect children and women from various types of violence in public places like Haat Bazaar etc. Recognition from daughters – By organizing public awareness programs at all levels (village/block/district) on the theme of women’s honor, families and shopkeepers etc. will be made aware that they can identify their homes and shops by the names of women and daughters of their families.
