Lucknow: As a thick blanket of fog engulfs the city of Lucknow, the first casualty of this change in environment seems to be flights that are plying in and out of the city. With foggy days here, it has had a direct bearing on transportation. Many flights have been delayed in the weekend.
The state capital has reportedly been witness to thick fog since Thursday evening. It has been densely foggy since Friday morning, when the capital has been under a cloud of fog. Visibility has been reduced due to dense fog, which has greatly affected the means of transport. It has impacted both road as well as the air routes.
The landing system CAT-3B is being used at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in the capital Lucknow to deal with the fog. Despite this, due to dense fog, the movement of aircraft has been affected. Some aircrafts are facing delays by 10 to 15 minutes and some aircrafts are running half an hour late. This has caused massive inconvenience for passengers due to delayed flights. On Saturday, several flights were delayed from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in the capital Lucknow.
Due to thick fog in the capital, many flights took off late on Saturday. In the same order, Air India flight AI412 from Lucknow to Delhi was delayed by 20 minutes, Air India Express going to Dubai was delayed by 30 minutes, IndiGo flight to Bangalore was delayed by 30 minutes, Vistara’s Kolkata Flights departed with a delay of 45 minutes, flights of IndiGo to Kolkata were delayed by 45 minutes, and flights to Dubai departed with a delay of 1 hour. At the same time, Air India Express flight from Abu Dhabi to Lucknow arrived about 45 minutes late.
As flights get delayed passengers are now forced to rethink their travel plans.
