Lucknow: Like any other political player in the country, Yogi Adityanath as Chief Minister of U.P. has seen both crests and troughs. Known to decide who leads India, Uttar Pradesh has been an important cog in the wheel of India’s growth, however major transformations were witnessed once the BJP rode to power with a massive mandate. In his stint thus far, Yogi Adityanath is the first BJP chief minister to complete four years in power.

Uttar Pradesh in these four years has become the second largest state in GSDP. It’s now the second in the country in Ease of Doing Business ranking with second highest number of airports in an Indian state.

Initiatives on cow protection, a defense expo, Investors Summits, ODOP summits have given U.P. a global presence. In rapid expansion, 4 new expressways have been gifted to the state.  In parched Bundelkhand, water has reached only to reinvigorate the once barren Bundelkhand and Vindhya region.

In a tough stance, Yogi Adityanath has made sure that through the Recovery Ordinance any damage to property will be accounted for. He has also openly named and shamed people who take law into their hands. In a first, the state now has a Special Protection Force.

Boosting prospects, the world’s largest and grand film city is coming up in Noida along with a state of the art logistics hub in northern India. And on the health front it is being ensured that life-threatening Japanese encephalitis is eradicated from Purvanchal.

Be it the rejuvenation of Ramnagari Ayodhya or ensuring a firm grip on the Corona pandemic, the government has worked doubly hard to make U.P. count. The Yogi government has worked quietly to turn around the Ayodhya experience totally global with annual Deepotsav a reality. In its last budget, the Yogi government gave Rs 140 crore for the development of Ayodhya, Rs 100 crore for tourism of Ayodhya and 300 crore plus for development of roads in and around temple town. An international airport in Ayodhya is also being constructed named after Maryada Purushottam Ram. Along with this will comeup a Shri Ram University.

Major steps have been taken to rid U.P. of its age old Jungle Raj tag with seamless crime control and case disposal. Criminals and musclemen are now forced to find safer havens outside the state. Improving connectivity, Uttar Pradesh is soon becoming a state with most number of airports. Under the leadership of Yogi, UP is now second in terms of GDP in the country, ahead of Maharashtra.

In these years moves like Anti-Romeo squads, Mission Shakti, Pink policing, ‘Love Jihad’ law and greater presence of women police have only created a more safer framework for women. Keeping criminals on tenterhooks under the current government the state has witnessed over 7,500 encounters with criminals keeping an arm’s length.

In over 7,500 encounters between March 2017 and February 15, 2021 , 132 criminals were killed. More than 2,900 criminals are seriously injured. In a year marred by Corona, the Government of Uttar Pradesh acted with great restraint and provided all facilities and services to its citizens. COVID control got its much needed impetus. The government also took full care of the migrant laborers.

In the year 2021, the government also started the Safe City Scheme in the month of February. From only in Lucknow, in its fourth and final budget, the government made a provision of Rs 97 crore for the Safe City Scheme in the budget to be implemented in 17 other cities.
