Lucknow: Dean Students’ Welfare, University of Lucknow organized Orientation-week (16th -20th October) and on fourth day of programme the students’ from the Department of Chemistry , Mathematics, Forensic Science, Geology, Biotechnology, Environment Science, Molecular & Human Genetics from the Faculty of Science were invited. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Sangeeta Sahu, the Dean Students’ Welfare. She emphasized on the holistic development and enlightened the students about the expectations of the University from them.
Further, the orientation remarks were made by Prof. Vibhuti Rai, Dean Faculty of Science. He encouraged the students to take the best advantage of the synergy of the research-intensive academic environment and the minds of the talented and experienced faculties that the University offers.
Following that, Chief Provost Prof. Anoop Kumar Singh graced the programme and delivered to the fresher, he briefed the process and facilities of the hostel available for Indian as well as foreign students.
Dr. Sunita Srivastava Additional Director Sanskritiki, discussed the holistic development of students’ and gave information about the various activities where they will take part.
ICC representative gave a detailed presentation and ensured that university is committed to create and maintain a community in which students, teachers and non-teaching staff can work together in an environment free of violence, harassment, exploitation and intimidation.
LUAA representative emphasized that sporting activities provide mental and physical therapy for students’ and rejuvenate them so that they can be in their best mental and physical condition. Further, Prof. Vijay Kumar Rai Additional DSW, briefed about the various schemes under the umbrella of Dean Students’ Welfare like TREE, OPD and Scholarships etc.
Representative of Proctor , Counselling and Guidance Cell, Happy Thinking Laboratory, Library, NSS and Gen Sen addressed the students on the expectations from them as students. The representatives of the committees and cells explained and briefed the students about the vision and exemplified some of the work they do.
