From pen seller on streets to most promising power solution company, story of Kunwar Sachdev

New Delhi: Where there is a will there is a way and if there is one man whose life typifies this adage it is Kunwar Sachdev. He is one such man who had the will to do good work and he managed to conquer obstacles and march ahead. Every person wants to be successful, every person runs after success, but after getting fed up with some problems in the middle, they change their path. Some succumb to pressure, there are also others  who achieve success.

This is the story of a determined and successful person. He stared troubles in the eye and crossed the path of struggle. One such person is Kunwar Sachdev, the owner of Su-Kam Power Systems Limited, the leading power solution company making inverters.

With his unique line of work he has fast become popular as the ‘Solar Man of India’. From being a hardcore salesman once he is today the owner of India’s premier power solution company and has become a Billionaire.

Born in a middle-class family, Sachdev’s family’s economic situation was very weak, but Sachdev never let his economic status get in the way of his goal. For lack of better financial condition, he used to go along with his brother to sell pens on streets. After some time, he stopped selling pens and studied law at Delhi University.

Completing his graduation in law, Sachdev started his own business andeven had to work in a cable TV company. He gradually started finding his feet in the power sector and adapted to the development of the industry and their needs.

Sachdev started his own cable business in 1988 which was named Su-Kam. After the globalization in 1991, the TV cable business started seeing problems. An accident occurred in the year 2000, which greatly influenced Sachdev. He saw a child being electrocuted by the inverter. This made him very sad and changed his plan. After this he decided to do something different and then he started making plastic body inverters and installed Su-Kam power system. In a few years, Su-Kam became a reputed company after hard work. With hard work, commitment and dedication today Su-Kam is an Indian Multinational Corporation. Su-Kam is considered one of the fastest growing industries in India. A direct example of Make in India. Su-Kam has reach in more than 90 countries today.

In India, the credit of plastic inverters goes to Kunwar Sachdev. Sachdev is the first person in the world to invent a plastic body inverter. He has also contributed a lot in the creation of unique solar DC systems. Kunwar Sachdev has also been awarded the ‘Bharat Shiromani’ by the Government of India and the ‘Best Industrialist of the Year’ award from Ernst & Young.
