Future of Nuclear Medicine discussed in SGPGI
Lucknow: Preparations are being made to install equipment on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model in the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) located in the capital, but before that a seminar was organized by the Department of Nuclear Medicine. This seminar was held to ascertain whether the shortcomings of the PPP model can be overcome and patients can be benefited with transparency.
In fact, the number of patients coming to SGPGI for treatment is continuously increasing. There has been a manifold increase in the number of patients in the last several years. Reportedly the resources in SGPGI are less compared to the patients. According to experts, patients have to wait for two months even for a CT scan test.
In such a situation, the Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Prof. (Dr.) S. Gambhir organized a seminar. So that patients do not have to wait long for different tests and treatment. This seminar was organized on the occasion of the foundation day of the Department of Nuclear Medicine.
