Ganpati Bappa Comes Home

Lucknow: Lucknowites are celebrating eco-friendly Ganesh festival this year. When these idols are immersed in Gomti river or nearby rivers, it will not cause any harm to the environment. The holy festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This time Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated from 31st August. For many years, Ganesh Utsav is celebrated with pomp in Lakkarmandi Bazar, in Lucknow’s Saadatganj. Sculptors make idols here in a large number of factories and homes. The shops were decorated, as well as all preparations have been made to take out the procession of Ganpati Bappa with drums and band bajas.

Rajkumar, who has been preparing idols of Ganpati Bappa Gauri son Ganesh for many years in Lakdamandi market, told that due to Corona for 2 years there was no fanfare in the market. There was a ban on making big idols, but this year Ganesh Utsav is being celebrated with pomp. For this, this year he has prepared idols up to 10 feet.

This year, the most expensive idol ranges from Rs 25,000 to Rs 40,000. Another shopkeeper Jagdish told that on August 30, the market was buzzing with buyers for the whole day. The idols were sold till late night. He told that this time more decoration and eco-friendly idols have come. So that it does not cause any harm to the environment and it can be easily immersed anywhere.

In the ten-day long Ganeshotsav, hundreds of pandals have come up resonating with Bappa’s cheers in the midst of Bhajan Sandhya, dance drama and other fanfare. Shri Ganesh Prakatya Committee is having the 18th Shri Ganesh Festival near Hanuman Setu at Jhulelal Vatika.

Bappa’s pandal has been prepared keeping in mind the environmental protection and cleanliness of Gomti. To save the forest, a message will also be given to plant more and more trees and plants. The 25-feet high pandal is being built in a waterproof, air-conditioned and German hangar at 20,000 feet. The five-day Ganesh festival of the Raja of Aliganj has also started at Gulab Vatika Aliganj. Puneet Sharma, who is associated with Shri Ganesh Mahotsav committee of Vasiratganj said Raja of Vasiratganj has been established in Peepal Wali Gali. 34th Shri Ganapati Puja festival of Ganpati Puja Committee is being celebrated near Mawaiya Park. Ganesh Utsav will be organized in Kaliji Ram Mandir Park in Chowk. Competitions like painting, dancing, singing will be held for the talent of the children.

Oscar Yog Sai Kripa Seva Sansthan Shri Ganpati Utsav is happening at Shivaji Marg. Ganesh Utsav Mandal in Ram Darbar Temple of Aminabadad Pratap Market is also happening. Among the other prominent puja committees are at Virhana, Aminabad, Chowk, Ashiana, Indira Nagar, Mahanagar Aliganj.

Ganapati is established on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada. Ganesh Utsav, celebrated for 10 days, started from August 31. Ganesh immersion will be done on Anant Chaturdarshi i.e. 9th September.
