Ganpati Bappa returns, celebrations go the eco – friendly way
Lucknow: Lucknowites will celebrate eco-friendly Ganesh festival this year, preparations are on in full swing. When these idols are immersed in Gomti river or nearby rivers, it will not cause any harm to the environment. The holy festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This time Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 31st August. For many years, Ganesh Utsav is celebrated with pomp in Lakkarmandi Bazar, the oldest Saadatganj in Lucknow. Sculptors are making sculptures here in a large number of factories and homes. The shops have been decorated, as well as all preparations have been made to take out the procession of Ganpati Bappa with drums and band bajas.
Rajkumar, who has been preparing idols of Ganpati Bappa Gauri son Ganesh ji for many years in Lakdamandi market, told that due to Corona for 2 years there was no fanfare in the market. There was a ban on making big idols, but this year Ganesh Utsav is being celebrated with pomp. For this, this year he has prepared idols up to 10 feet.
Idols ranging from Rs 25000 to Rs 40,000
The most expensive idol ranges from Rs 25,000 to Rs 40,000. Another shopkeeper Jagdish told that on August 30, the market was buzzing with buyers for the whole day. The idols will be sold till late night. He told that this time more decoration and eco-friendly idols have come. So that it does not cause any harm to the environment and it can be easily immersed anywhere.
