Varanasi: Shri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated in Varanasi. Attractive tableaus of the birth anniversary are decorated in the BHU campus including hostels and Vishwanath temple. Since morning, preparations were going on in full swing at Malviya Bhawan as well as at other places including the temple.

The splendour of Shri Krishna Janmashtami is visible everywhere in the city. During this period, the girl students in BHU danced as Radha Krishna and also played Garba vigorously.

The devotees were delighted to see the view of Nand’s house decorated in tableaus. Shiva’s city Kashi Nandgaon was seen decorated in celebration of Kanha’s birth anniversary. The decoration made with leaves caught everyone’s attention. After the birth anniversary, deafening cheers of Jai Kanhaiya Lal’s elephant and horse palanquin kept resonating.

BHU students said that we celebrate this event with great pomp. We have decorated our entire premises with our own hands a day before. Cultural programs have also been organized by the students.

Tableaux have been prepared in various hostels at a total of 13 places in the entire BHU campus.
