GDP will double in 2023-24 as compared to 2016-17: CM Yogi

Lucknow: In the year 2023-24, there will be an increase of about four lakh crore rupees in the economy of the state. This estimate has been made in the budget figures presented by the state government for this financial year. With the intention of speeding up the economic activities, there is also an estimate of taking a loan of about 83 thousand crore rupees from the central government, market, financial institutions etc.

Gross Domestic Product (DGP) is the total monetary or market value of goods and services produced in a country or state in a specified period of time. GDP shows the level of economic activity, in which area there was a boom and in which area there was a decline.

Increasing GDP graph means that the economy of the state is getting stronger. The figures of the Finance Department show that in 2023-24 the state’s gross state domestic product will be Rs 2439171 crore (24 lakh 39 thousand 171 crore).

The revised estimate of SGDP for the current financial year 2022-23 is Rs 2048234 crore (20 lakh 48 thousand 234 crore). In this way, an increase of 390937 crores is seen in GDP in 2023-24. In the year 2016-17, the total GDP of the state was Rs 1247658 crore (12 lakh 47 thousand 658 crore).

These figures are showing that the state’s GDP has doubled in about six years. The percentage of GDP growth seems to be increasing year by year.
