GIS 2023 showed humane side by giving differently abled a platform

Lucknow: Under the U.P. Global Investor Summit 2023, stalls of institutions and universities run by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities were set up. In the stall, differently-abled children made some creative and useful items from waste materials, showing their talent. The items made by differently-abled children were appreciated by the people coming to the stall.

Minister of State for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Backward Classes Welfare (Independent Charge) Narendra Kashyap saw the exhibition put up in the stall of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Encouraging the differently-abled children, he congratulated them for the items made by them. Information about schemes and activities run by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities was provided in the stall. Stalls were set up by Government Signal School Mohan Road Lucknow, Sparsh Government Blind Inter College and Bachpan Day Care Center Lucknow under departmental institutions. Detailed information was provided by the Bachpan Day Care Center, Lucknow, about the cochlear implants surgery scheme being run by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

The items made from waste items were displayed by the students of the Government Signal School. Sparsh Government Inter College for the Blind demonstrated the materials used for teaching and sports to the blind children. Ramcharitmanas was recited in Braille script by Sundaram, a blind student, and various types of songs were sung, which was the center of main attraction. A stall was set up by the Artificial Limbs and Rehabilitation Center run by Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, in which information was provided to the visitors about the services provided in the field of rehabilitation of disabled, such as artificial legs, cosmetic hands, splints and calipers, etc. and research. . Apart from this, health-enhancing information was given by mapping the foot pressure of the visitors through computerized 3D foot scanner in the stall. This machine is very useful for diseases like diabetes and sports injury.

Special dignitaries and officials including Additional Chief Secretary, Disabled Empowerment Hemant Rao, Director Disabled Empowerment Satya Prakash Patel appreciated the stall put up by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow.
